Port of Seattle Terminal 5 Berth Modernization

EC completed this expansion project adding Super Post-Panamax cranes including new crane rails, and ship to shore connections. Our medium voltage scope included shore power substations, crane substations, double ended utility incoming switchgear, and more than 20 miles of duct bank. The electrical upgrades we performed included the installation of a new Seattle City Light switchyard, 12.47kV primary substation, two new 12.47kV crane power switching stations, two new 12.47kV-6.6kV shore power substations, installation of new medium voltage cabling between all substations, retrofit of the existing 4160V substation, Supervisory Controller and Data Acquisition (SCADA), and systems integration.
